Zelma B. Hudepohl, age 84, died on Monday, July 18, 2005 in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness. Zelma was born January 21, 1921 in Bassano, Alberta, Canada the daughter of Sumner and Olga Kirstein Chase. She graduated from High School in Grants Pass, Oregon. Zelma was united in marriage to Milton John Hudepohl on February 4, 1947 at Emmett, Oregon. She has lived all of her married life in the Williamsburg area and has been a resident of Colonial Manor, in Amana, the past 3 years. Zelma was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was very active in the Immanuel Ladies Aide and worked as a volunteer at the Lutheran Interparish School. Zelma is survived by a son Keith Hudepohl and wife Deb of Marengo; two daughters: Marlene Burns and husband Allan of Swisher and Julie Hohenshell and husband Dave of Searsboro; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and a sister Yovonne Blockie of Los Gartos, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Milton, in July of 2001, a brother Russell and a sister Vera. Celebration of life services are set for 10:30 am on Thursday, July 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg with Pastor Richard Meyer officiating. Burial is in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home. A Memorial Fund is for Immanuel Lutheran Bell Tower Fund.
