SIGOURNEY-Winifred Elizabeth (Redlinger) Wehr, of Sigourney, died November 9, 2017 at the Manor House Care Center, Sigourney, Iowa.
Winifred was born April 18, 1919, near Harper, Iowa, one of 8 children of Michael and Margaret (Sondag) Redlinger. She attended St. Elizabeth's Catholic School in Harper until 8th grade when she was needed to help in their home.
August 29, 1944, she married Peter Paul Wehr at St Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Harper. Their marriage spanned 69 years and was blessed with mutual love, respect and many good times with family and friends. They lived on a farm NE of Sigourney for 35 years, then moved to a home in Sigourney. Winifred loved being a fulltime homemaker, caring for her 10 children and many grandchildren, cooking, baking, preserving fruits and vegetables and sewing for her family.
Winifred was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Listen-A-Bit Homemaker's Club, Keokuk County Farm Bureau women and their chorus and kitchen band, and the Huff N Puffers square dance club.
She is survived by 9 of her children: Marilyn (Allen) Platner, Marion; Donald (Shirley), Davenport; Dolores (Ken) Robertson, Gilbert AZ; Jerome (Soraya), Tampa FL; Vivian (Tom) Winkler, Indianola; Martha (Frank) Puckett, Zachary LA; Michael (Joy), Sigourney; Denis (Lisa), Moline IL; Diana (Brian) Steiner, Marshalltown; 19 grandchildren (11 spouses) and 18 great-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as brothers Francis of Marengo and LaVern of Fairfield. Winifred was preceded in death by her husband Paul, by their son Marvin, great-grandson, Zachery Platner, her parents, brother Edwin and sisters Miriam, Margaret, Dorothy and Bernadette.

Visitation will be Friday, November 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sigourney, from 4-8 p.m. with a scripture service beginning at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 18 with a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St Mary's Catholic Church, Sigourney and burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney.

Winifred was a humble, loving, generous woman, living her Christian life every day and will be greatly missed by her family.
