Kalona- Wilson "Bill" Miller was born January 13, 1932, in rural Kalona, Iowa. The son of Lewis L. and Fanny (Miller) Miller. Bill was united in marriage to Lois Gingerich on April 7, 1951 at the Parnell Mennonite Church. Bill worked in garden and landscaping in the Park and Rec Dept. in Coralville. He also has been employed by the Coralville Police Department, Clean Towel and Manhattan Coffee. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church for many years. Bill became involved with the Salvation Army serving meals and volunteering for 25 years, along with delivering meals to shut in and being Santa Claus for Christmas Drive. Bill passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 88.
He is survived by his wife Lois; seven children, Ethel (Tim) Sieren of Keota, David (Peggy) Miller of Riverside, Jim (Jackie) Miller of Wellman, Brenda (Pat) Mougin of Oxford, Kenny (Leigh) Miller of Kalona, Mike (Chrissy) Miller of Keota and Deb (Kelsey) Redlinger of Kalona; grandchildren; great grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Ann (Dennis) Shetler of Kalona and Mattie (Joe) Yoder of Colon, MI; a brother, Fred (Ida Ellen) Miller of Nashville Arkansas and a sister-in-law, Ruby Miller of Phoenix, AR. He was preceded in death by a son Sgt. Bradford Miller, a sister Cleola Yoder and 2 brothers, Menno and Junior.
A Private Family Service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be held in the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Messages and tributes maybe sent to the family at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
