WELLMAN - Wilma Cordelle Yoder was born August 24, 1919 near Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Erlis and Martha (Marner) Brenneman. She attended White Hall rural School. On July 6, 1941 she was united in marriage to Pete M. Yoder at the Abner Yoder residence near Wellman. They moved to Wisconsin in 1954 and returned to Wellman in 1969. Wilma worked in housekeeping at Shenk Nursing Home and Parkview Manor in Wellman. She was also a homemaker and helped on the family farm. She was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, the church sewing circle, an active supporter of Mennonite Disaster Services and helped with prison ministry. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing. Wilma died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 91 years. Wilma is survived by three children - Mary Wenman (Dick) of Iowa City; Marvin Yoder (Alice) of Wellman; Donna Kasper (Scott) of Riverside; six grandchildren - Karen Rogers (Brook); Missy Yoder; Travis Yoder, Nick Donnan, Nicole (Shaun) Lewis, Jenny Kasper; eight great grandchildren; four sisters -Iona Swartzendruber of Kalona; Leta Mae Schneider of Kalona; Arlene Snyder of Kalona; Lucine Morrison of West Branch; and two brothers - Dayle Brenneman of Upland, CA; and Merle Brenneman of Janesville, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pete in 1997; a grandson Shawn Butterbaugh; two brothers - Glen Brenneman and Marlin Brenneman; and a sister Ollie Hershberger. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Wellman Mennonite Church, Wellman. Pastor Robert Hartzler will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-7 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Wellman.
