Wilma Augusta Mittelbach Neumann of West Amana passed away Sunday October 18, 2020 at the age of 100, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Private family services will be held at the West Amana Cemetery, per the families request there will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo, Colonial Manor of Amana, or Essence of Life Hospice. The family requests all in attendance to wear masks and practice social distancing. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wilma was born October 18, 1920 at West Amana, she was the daughter of Henry and Lina Albert Mittelbach. She married Paul Neumann on September 25, 1937. To this union seven children were born, Violet, Betty, Connie, Robert, Richard, Evelyn and Glenn. Wilma is survived by all her children, a son-in-law Oris Martens, daughters-in-law, Virginia Neumann, Sue Neumann and Mona Neumann. Also surviving her are 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grand children, and nine great-great grandchildren. Wilma worked her lifetime as a cook at the Ox Yoke, Ronneburg and Zuber’s Restaurant’s and also volunteered at Clear Creek Amana High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, a grandson, Kevin Wille, a great grandson, Hunter Wardenburg, her siblings, Elsie Ehrman and Harold Mittelbach, three sons-in-law, Dale Singleton, Verlyn Wardenburg and Dick Wiebold.
