William Rodger Collins

May 21, 1943 — November 23, 2017

Williamsburg-William Rodger Collins was born May 21, 1943 in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Florence (Hook) Collins. William was united in marriage to Angelene Sebetka on September 15, 1962 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He worked as janitor for the BGM School district and was a carpenter for S & S Siding. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going for drives and the casino. William passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 74 years.

He is survived by four children: William Collins, Jr. of Williamsburg, Justin Collins of Parnell, Crystal Toney of Elberon and Jason Collins of Parnell; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; his sibilings: Shirley Heaberlin of Springfield, MO, Peg Johnston, Marsha Irwin and Mary Sinibaldi all of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers: John, David and Ralph Jr. and three sisters: Benita, Alice and Janet.

Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Pastor Dan Jessop will officiate. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Clutier. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
