Williamsburg- William Michael McCune, was born August 16, 1970, in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of John Francis & Shirley Ann (Werner) McCune, Jr. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. He worked cutting concrete and coring for Iowa Bridge & Culvert in Washington. He was a life long resident of the Williamsburg Community. Bill died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at his home near Williamsburg, at the age of 39. He is survived by his mother Shirley of Williamsburg; his siblings: Katherine (Jay) Friesen of Tucson, AZ, Tom (Darlene) McCune of Cedar Rapids, Janet (Monte) Kugley of Homestead, Carolyn McCune of Des Moines, Kim McCune (fiancé Steve Fuhrmeister) of Iowa City and Barb McCune of Williamsburg; and a sister-in-law Joy McCune of Albert Lea, MN. He was preceded in death by his father John Jr. and a brother John III. A memorial prayer service will be held 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Williamsburg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until service time on Sunday, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Williamsburg Fire Department.
