William Lynn Schauf was born Thursday, September 20, 1951 in Washington, Iowa the son of Wilbur and Velda (Moffit) Schauf. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1970. He served in the Unites States Air Force for 4 years where he was stationed in London, England. After being discharged from the Air Force he lived in Colorado for 20 years where he worked for a security company. He returned to Wellman in 1998. Bill died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at his home in Wellman at the age of 56 years. Bill is survived by his mother Velda Schauf of Wellman, 5 sisters and 3 brothers - Shirley Debler of Wellman; Myrna Bozarth and husband Ray of West Liberty; Larry Schauf and wife Sandy of Wellman; Ed Schauf of Marietta, South Carolina; Dennis Schauf of West Liberty; Mary Van Dyke and husband Jerry of Louisville, Kentucky; Lori Schauf of West Liberty; Sandra Hahn of West Liberty; 12 nieces and nephews; and 15 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother Kenneth Leroy Schauf.
