W. Larry Coolman, 66, of Franklin, TN and formerly of Warren, IN died unexpectedly Friday morning March 17th, 2006 at his home in Franklin. Mr. Coolman had spent many successful years as manager of a paper mill and various automotive supply facilities. He was currently working for First Consulting Group in Nashville, TN. Mr. Coolman was a 1955 Eagle Scout, 1958 graduate of Warren High School, and 1963 graduate of Purdue University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Warren, IN, and a U.S Army Veteran, honorably discharged. Mr. Coolman was born March 4th, 1940 in Huntington County, IN to W. Kenneth and Dorothy (Colbert) Coolman. He married Mildred (Midge Foubert) Hilgendorf on July 28th, 1967 in Wood River, IL. Mr. Coolman had lived in Wood River, IL; Toledo, OH; McComb, MI; Coshocton, OH; and Overland Park, KS before settling in Franklin, TN to be nearer to family. Survivors include his wife, Midge; a daughter, Jamie (Rob) Dreussi of Franklin, TN; daughter Kathleen (Timothy) Dwiggins of Yorktown, VA; and son Michael (Terri) Hilgendorf of Alton, IL. He was a loving grandfather to Joshua and Samantha Dreussi; Tricia (Jodi) Ander, Amy (Steve) Castagnola and Emi Leigh Dwiggins; and Michael Josef Hilgendorf; and great-grandfather to Rachael, Laura Beth and Mathew Ander; and Megan and Katelynn Castagnola. He was a father-figure to his two nieces, Carla Coolman of Washington, DC and Stephanie (Pablo) Santillana of Puebla, Mexico and great-uncle to Sara Santillana. He was preceded in death by a sister Nedra Lou and brother Matthew. Larry was a devoted husband, cherished father, and beloved grandfather, uncle, and friend to all he met. Larry loved being at their Kentucky Lake home, boating, fishing, traveling, reading, and just checking up on friends. He loved greatly, was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. There will be no calling. A graveside service will be conducted at Millersburg Cemetery in Millersburg, IA on Tuesday, March 21st. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion; Powell Funeral Home in North English, IA is in charge of the service with Pastor Edwin Jordan presiding.
