Williamsburg- William "Bill" George Hulseberg was born September 30, 1925 in Elburn, Illinois, the son of Bernard George and Lucille (Davis) Hulseberg. He attended Elburn School at the age of 17 years he moved to Williamsburg where he graduated from Williamsburg High School. On October 6, 1946 Bill was united in marriage to Mildred Mary Iburg at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Shortly after marriage he started working at Williamsburg Lumber until 1978 at which time he purchased Williamsburg Lumber and later retired in 2000. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he has served on many boards. Bill enjoyed being outside, working in his garden, feeding the birds, traveling and spending time with his friends and family. Bill passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Highland Ridge at the age of 90 years old.
William is survived by his wife Mildred of 69 years. Four children: Linda Garringer, Robert Hulseberg, David (Darla) Hulseberg, and Mark (Marilyn) Hulseberg all of Williamsburg. 11 grandchildren: Laura (Barry) Dietrich, Ben (Kim) Hulseberg, Quentin Hulseberg, Heather (Alex) Conrad, Krista Hulseberg, Ryan Hulseberg, Amy (Mike) Cook, Jody (Jenny) Garringer and Ted (Karen) Garringer, Rod (Lynnae) Garringer and Terry Garringer; 19 great grandchildren: Colton and Copper Dietrich, Wes, Zoe and Wil Hulseberg, Masilyn and Kinsley Conrad, Abby and Emilie Mahan, Trenton,Chase and Jenson Cook, Steven, Allison and Jackie Garringer, Reis and Regan Garringer, Amanda (Ryan) Slade and Hiliary (Alex) Klyn and three great-great grandchildren: Makayla, Elizabeth and Olivia Slade. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings: Betty Samuelson, Charles Hulseberg, Louis Hulseberg, Lois Lentz and Janet Hulseberg and a son-in-law: Ralph Garringer.
Celebration Of Life Service will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund for Iowa City Hospice and the Williamsburg High School Construction Club Class (PO Box 270, Williamsburg, IA 52361).
