William George Roemig

Williamsburg- William George Roemig was born September 21, 1931 in Homestead, Iowa. He was the son of Edgar H. & Minnie Ida (Lipman) Roemig. Bill graduated from Amana High School in 1950. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. On October 8, 1970 Bill was united in marriage to Bernice Mae Newkirk at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was an auto mechanic for Zimmerman Ford for 30 years, retiring in 1991. Bill was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop. Bill died on Friday, April 1, 2016 at his home, near Williamsburg at the age of 84 years.

He is survived by his twin brother Charles Roemig of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister Wilma Jones of Orlando, FL; nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded by his parents; wife Bernice; and a sister Doris Burk.

Celebration of Life gathering will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
