William "Bill" Caylor Swolley was born October 30, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Vernon L. and Cora M. (Roe) Swolley. Bill served in the United States Navy for 10 years. Has lived in the Wellman area for the past 15 years. He enjoyed watching football, working on crossword puzzles and suduku. William died Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa age the age of 63.
William is survived by two daughters: Cassandra and Rosmary Swolley both of Tucson, AZ. Six grandchildren: Willie Swolley, Demarcus Swolley, Tanisha Leek-Swolley, Jasmin Williams, Keelon Leek and Mikkail Kellum, three great grandchildren, five sisters: Margaret (Richard) Anderson of Brayton, IA, Nancy (Tom) Wills of Council Bluffs, IA, Wilma Zimmerman of Columbus, NE, Mary Swolley of Keota, IA, and Donna Cline of Iowa City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters: Carol Jayne, Karen Johnson, Cassandra Swolley, Christine Freland, Linda VanVoltenburg and Betty White.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am until service time. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages may be sent to the family at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
