Wilda Jean Reschly was born November 15, 1931 near Washington, Iowa the daughter of Russell Francis and Zitta Wilda (Bush) Chorpening Sr. She attended rural Straw College country school. On August 31, 1952 she was united in marriage to Orlin Reschly at her parents home. They have lived in the Washington and West Chester communities where she was a homemaker. Jean was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church and Friendly Circle Neighborhood Club. She loved music and was a self taught pianist and accordion player. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as making crafts and doing liquid embroidery. Jean died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington at the age of 75 years. Jean is survived by her husband Orlin of West Chester; a son Daniel Reschly and wife Julie of West Chester; a daughter Rachael Roth and husband Curtis of Wellman; 6 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; 5 brothers and sisters Richard Chorpening of Wayland; Arlene Wheeler of Iowa City; Russell Chorpening of Shell Lake, Wisconsin; David Chorpening of Washington; and Angela McKune of Seymour, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Timothy; a grandson Canaan; and a brother Russell Jr.
