Williamsburg-Wilbert Arthur Huedepohl was born December 21, 1930 in Iowa Township, Iowa, the son of Arthur Albert and Elsie Marie Kleinmeyer Huedepohl. He was baptized January 25, 1931 and confirmed in 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church near Homestead. He attended St. John's Lutheran School. Wilbert was united in marriage to Joyce Stanerson on July 16, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. He served in the Korean War from February 1952 until November 1953, serving on heartbreak and bloody ridge, receiving 3 bronze service stars, National Defense Service Medal 40th infantry division, United Nations Service Medal and combat infantry badge. He has been a life long resident of Iowa County where he was a farmer and wood craftsman. Wilbert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, serving on various positions and also served as an election official for Hilton Township and was a member of the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797 in Williamsburg and was an avid fan of the Cardinals. Wilbert died Monday, July 4, 2005 at home after a brief illness at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 13 days. He is survived his wife Joyce; four children: Rick (Joan) Huedepohl of Edgerton, Wisconsin, David (Cheryl) Huedepohl of Williamsburg, Cindy ( Mark) Sevcik of Cedar Rapids and Phillip (Misti) Huedepohl of Swisher; eleven grandchildren: Jason Huedepohl, Cody Huedepohl, Tyler Huedepohl, Lindsey Huedepohl, Joshua Sevcik, Jessica Sevcik, Nichole Sevcik, Rachael Sevcik, Audrey Ternus, Luke Huedepohl and Cole Huedepohl; two sisters: Zelda (William) Tanke of Deep River and Fern (Adrian) Wetjen of Williamsburg and a sister in law Alice Huedepohl of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a Brother Ralph Huedepohl.
