OLLIE-Whitney Renee Snakenberg, age 23, of Ollie, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at her home following a lengthy illness. Whitney was born July 13, 1982, in Nevada, Iowa, to George and Kitty (Schrader) Snakenberg. She was valedictorian of the class of 2000 at Pekin High School. She then attended Indian Hills Community College and Buena Vista University, where she was a junior. Whitney was employed by Hedrick Savings Bank in Ottumwa as a teller. She was a very gifted artist and was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie. Survivors include her parents: George and Kitty Snakenberg of Ollie; one brother: Schuyler Snakenberg of Ollie; paternal grandparents: Mel and Marie Snakenberg of Sigourney and maternal grandparents: Harold and Kate Schrader of Ollie. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie, with Rev. Shirley Hoffman Wills officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
