Wayne Lonnie Willits

Williamsburg- Wayne Lonnie Willits was born August 23, 1944 in St. Joseph, Missouri the son of William Howard & Dorothy Leona (George) Willits. He grew up in Missouri and moved to Iowa in 1978. On November 1, 1982 Wayne was united in marriage to Carol Jean Kahler in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, camping, working with leather and his horses. Wayne died on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo at the age of 74 years.

He is survived by his wife Carol of Williamsburg; seven children Sherry (Rick) Angel, Marty Willits, Regina (Shawn) Howard, Leigh Ann (David) Bayless, Susan (Tim) Caldwell, Jody (Michelle) Gorsh and Jay (Hannah) Gorsh; twelve grandchildren Johnny & Chris Tedpaogo, Anna & Sarah Willits, Corey (Lisa) Angel, Hayley Furler, Cassy Caldwell, Brai & Ryder Gorsh, Sidney Geisen, and Owen & Helene Gorsh; three great grandchildren Zoe & Lily Tedpaogo and Olivia Reynolds; three sisters Billie (Dusty) Boltz, Joanne (Ed) Auxier and Dorothy (Greg) Lee; three brothers-in-law Wayne Goacher, Larry (Sue) Kahler and Barry (Lori) Kahler; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents William & Dorothy, father & mother-in-law Ivan & Shirley Kahler; two sisters Sharon Goacher and Karen Willits; and two nephews Butch Wilson and Rob Gregory.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until service time. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
