SIGOURNEY-Vivian Blanch Seibel, age 97, of Sigourney, died Friday, October 15, 2004, at the Sigourney Care Center following a brief illness. Vivian was born February 4, 1907, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Earl E. and Pearl Barton. She graduated from Eddyville High School and business school in Des Moines. She then worked at Farmer's Savings Bank in Keota. In 1931 she married Paul A. Seibel. For many years she was a bookkeeper at Seibel Hardware in Sigourney. Vivian became a resident of Sigourney Care Center in 1979 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sigourney. Survivors include a sister-in-law: Dorothy Seibel of Sigourney, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul in 1974, one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney with Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. A general memorial fund has been established. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
