Virginia Grimm was born on June 11, 1931, in Williamsburg, IA, the daughter of Will and Gertrude Thomas Davies. She graduated from Conroy High School in 1948. Virginia married Melvin Cledith Grimm on August 2, 1949, at St. Mary's Church in Williamsburg. They lived in the rural Keswick, North English, Deep River and Webster communities before moving to North English in November 1996. Melvin preceded her in death in December 1996. Virginia worked 28 years as a certified nursing assistant at the English Valley Care Center in North English. She retired in 2006. Her joys in life were her family and gardening. Virginia died at her home in North English on Friday, August 10, 2007. She lived 76 years, 1 month and 30 days. She is survived by 3 sons: Kevin (Diane) Grimm of Millersburg, IA; John (Shirley) Grimm of Malcom, IA; Terry (Kim) Grimm of Williamsburg, IA; and daughter Carol (Arnie) Reif of Conroy, IA; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother David Davies of Williamsburg, IA and a sister-in-law Evelyn Stepanek of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Melvin. Virginia Davies Grimm, age 76, died following a long illness at her home in North English on Friday, August 10, 2007. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Pat Lumsden officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery near Millersburg. Visitation will be held at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English on Sunday, August 12, 2007 from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 4:00 P.M.
