Victor Edward Fraise

Victor "Vic" Fraise, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Arbor Court. Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. followed by the family greeting friends. A funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27th at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with The Reverend Joseph Phung as celebrant. Interment will be at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Memorials have been established to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, St. Alphonsus Cemetery, or a charity of the donor's choice. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com Born August 31, 1930 in St. Paul, IA, Victor Edward was the son of Allo and Anna (Dingman) Fraise. He received his education at St. Paul and Salem schools. On February 20, 1954, he married Jean Peterman at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2004. The couple moved to rural Salem in 1966. They later moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1997. Vic had a high work ethic and devoted his life to farming. He also worked as a fork lift operator at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, IA. After 44 years, he retired from this position. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Favorite hobbies included fishing and mushroom hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include three sons, Dennis Fraise, Tom Fraise, and Mike (Becky) Fraise all of Mt. Pleasant, IA; three daughters, Ann Griffin of Richland, IA, Kathy Fraise, and Joan Panos both of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a brother, Harold (Roberta) Fraise of Danville, IA; a sister, Marilyn Mercer of Burlington, IA; eight grandchildren; and one great grandson. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Jean; a daughter, Veronica Fraise; a son, Mark Fraise; a grandson, Silas Fraise; and three sisters, Lucille Mayberry, Henrietta Westfall, and Gertrude Krogmeier.
