MOUNT PLEASANT- Veunna Voat Baccam, 68, of Mount Pleasant, IA passed away May 30, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Veunna was born September 13, 1955, in Xieng Khouang, Laos, the daughter of Khamsay and Toune Baccam. She went to Vientiane College and taught French while in Laos. She worked as a stone setter at Precision Finisher Company. She has been a member of the Mount Pleasant community for over 20 years. Veunna attended Trenton Missionary Church. She expressed her creativity through embroidery, crocheting, painting, and writing. Veunna enjoyed music and flowers. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Veunna was very kindhearted and never forgot a birthday or other special dates.

Veunna is survived by her two sons Anourack Nino Serixay, Anoura Bobby Serixay both of Buffalo, New York; daughter Oravorne Lina Le of Raleigh, North Carolina; brother Khamviou Baccam of France; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Vong and Vien Baccam.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Olson-Powell Chapel & Crematory. The family will be present to receive friends beginning at 12:30. The Olson-Powell Chapel & Crematory is caring for Veunna and her family.
