Verneta Teberg

Verneta M. Teberg, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Arbor Court. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A private family service will be held with interment at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. The Reverend Joseph Phung will officiate the service. A memorial has been established to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com. Born May 1, 1923, in Henry County, IA, Verneta Mae was the daughter of Ole and Bertha (Bell) Turner. Her formative years were spent in Rome, IA. She graduated from Pleasant Lawn School in 1941. On December 28, 1943, she married Dale Teberg at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2009. Always a loving homemaker, Verneta spent 42 years on the family farm north of Mt. Pleasant helping her husband and raising a family. The couple moved from the farm into Mt. Pleasant in 1997. Verneta was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Dale Teberg, Jr., of Hanover, IL, and Jerry (Sherry) Teberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA; four grandchildren, Ted (Mary) Teberg, Tracy (Eric) Shepard, Corey (Shean) Albrecht, and Carrie (Dave) Geary; and seven great-grandchildren, Tessa and Tommy Teberg, Caden and Addison Albrecht, Tyler and Connor Shepard, and Brecken Geary. Along with her husband, Dale, Verneta is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, John, Charles, Ed, and Paul Turner.
