Millersburg- Trudy Joann Dietze was born September 4, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Lee & Alice Josephine (Moore) Ayers. She graduated from English Valley High School in 1976 and went on to receive her Jr. Accounting degree from Kirkwood Community College. On November 18, 1983 Trudy was united in marriage to Gordon Ray Dietze. They lived in the North English and Millersburg area. Trudy worked in bookkeeping at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Victor State Bank and Iowa Erosion. She also worked as a cook and waitress at the Hometown Café in Millersburg. Trudy was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, camping, car shows and traveling, especially to warm places. Trudy died on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at her home in Millersburg at the age of 62 years.
She is survived by her husband Gordon Sr. of Millersburg; four children Gordon Jr., Angela Menini and Robert (Amy) Dietze all of Colorado Springs, CO and Bradley (Cindy) Dietze of Montebello, CO; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; eight siblings Sandra Snow of West Amana, Richard Ayers, Robert (Sherry) Ayers Jr., Rick (Mary Lou) Ayers all of North English, Carolyn (Greg) Wolffer of Victor, Patty Hudson of Valparaiso, NE and Brett & Tracy Ayers both of Iowa City; numerous nieces and nephews; and her extended family at Hometown Café. She was preceded by her parents and a sister Shirley Ayers.
A Celebration Of Life Memorial will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Hometown Café in Millersburg. Powell Funeral Home in North English is caring for Trudy and her family. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
