Tristan Duane Furgason was born on December 9, 1988 in Washington, IA, a son of Eric Tusing and Karen Furgason. Tristan's family moved to South English in 1992. He grew up enjoying video games, playing his guitar and keyboard, swimming and collecting swords and knives. He was a former Boy Scout and was a member of the First Baptist Church in South English. Tristan attended English Valleys High School in North English. He had recently worked for Bender Foundry Service in Sigourney. He died on Sunday, April 22, 2007, near North English, IA of an accidental gun-shot wound. Tristan lived 18 years, 4 months and 14 days. He is survived by his mother Karen Young (Scott) of South English, IA; his father Eric Tusing (Angela) of Washington, IA; a sister Tanya Sparrowgrove (Chris) of South English, IA; a brother Travis Furgason of South English, IA; step-brothers Travis Filben of Keota, IA and Jordan Glen of Washington, IA; step-sisters Whitney and Chelsea Shoemaker of Washington, IA; half-brothers Eric Tusing Jr., Dakota Tusing, And Ryan Tusing all of Waterloo, IA; half-sisters Brooklyn Tusing of Waterloo, IA and Nichole Schlabach of Wellman, IA; Grandmothers Joan Furgason and Mary Dell Tusing both of Washington, IA and Gloria Jean Young of North English; and grandfather Bob Wolfe of Conesville, IA. Also surviving are niece Hannah Sparrowgrove and nephew Beau Schlabach and Eric Tusing III. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Junior Furgason and Richard Arlo Young. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the English Valleys High School Gymnasium in North English, IA with Pastor Scott Young officiating. Private graveside services will be in the South English Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. A general memorial fund has been established.
