Tony Howard Francis Sherbon

Tony Howard Francis Sherbon age 61, of Marengo passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at Compass Memorial Hospital following a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Lay Speaker Kathy Wilhelm officiating. Family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M., until service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be contributed to a memorial bench in Tony’s name. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Tony is survived by his wife, Marsha; his children Bambi Martin of Maynard, IA; Jessy (Joey) Daugherty of Center Point, IA; Matt (September) Sherbon of Buffalo, MN; Levi (Hannah) Sherbon of Cedar Rapids, IA; ten grandchildren; two brothers Mitch (Ronda) Sherbon of Spencer, IA; Mark (Penny) Sherbon of La Porte City, IA; and a sister Anne (Bill) Myers of Long Grove, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tony Howard Francis Sherbon was born January 1, 1959 the son of Robert and Florence Kuriger Sherbon. He grew up in rural Fairbank and the Jesup area where he attended school. Tony entered the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and was honorably discharged in 1976. Tony met Marsha Bates as teenagers in Fairbank and reconnected with her in 1987. The couple was united in marriage on July 4, 2005 in Marengo spending the last 33 years together. Tony was a master of all trades and worked various careers throughout the Midwest. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, nascar and was a collector of fine oddities. He especially loved raising rabbits since he was a child. Tony will be greatly missed by many.
