Timothy Scott Atkinson

Parnell-Timothy Scott Atkinson was born July 22, 1965, in Harlan, Iowa, the son of Robert K. and Anna Mae (Nelsen) Atkinson. He graduated from West High School in Iowa City in 1984. Tim was united in marriage to Dawn Brennan on August 5, 1989 at North Liberty. To this union they were blessed with three children. They later divorced. Tim worked 33 years in shipping and receiving at IAC (formerly Sheller Globe) in Iowa City. He enjoyed spending time with his children, hunting, fishing, attending auctions and flee markets. He was a former member of the Elks and Moose Lodges. Tim died Thursday, April 27, 2017 of natural causes at his home at the age of 51 years.

He is survived by his children: Ethan Atkinson of US Marine Corp, stationed in Japan, Cody Atkinson of Williamsburg and Britnee Atkinson of North English; two brothers: Robert "Rob" (Cris) Atkinson of North Liberty and Rodney Atkinson of Portland, OR; niece and nephews: Austin (Chelsey), Shelby and Lucas and a great niece Oaklie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
