Timothy Edward "Max" Stoner, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, IA, following a massive stroke. Visitation for Max will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, beginning after 12 noon at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, with Daryl Coffin officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Henry County Conservation Fund. Born March 18, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, Tim was the son of Harold Robert and Betty Louise Yocum Stoner. Max was a 1971 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. He attended college for one year in Kirksville, MO. On September 30, 1993, he married Mary Lynn Millard at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. She survives. A lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, Max worked at Iowa Wesleyan College for many years, in the grounds keeping department, serving as foreman. A true nature lover, Max enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He liked looking for mushrooms. Max spent time outdoors hunting for arrowheads and Indian artifacts and liked sharing his extensive collection with others. He was an avid Cardinal fan and watched all Hawkeye sporting events. He loved music and above all, loved spending time with family and friends. Max was a lifetime member of the National Trapper's Association, as well as a member of Pheasants Forever and the National Archeological Society. Along with his wife, Mary, Max is survived by one brother Ted Stoner and his companion, Deb Marley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
