Thomas "Tom" Twaddle, 64, of Salem, IA, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Per his request, his body has been cremated and no visitation or services will be accorded. The Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements. Born January 10, 1952, in Carthage, IL, Thomas Eugene was the son of Richard Lee and Isabelle Dorene (Clark) Twaddle. "Tom" graduated from Carthage High School in 1970. On May 6, 1998, he married RaeAnne Jones in Keokuk. Mr. Twaddle worked at various positions in his working career, including operating a fork lift at Steel Castings in Keokuk and at Metro Mail in Mt. Pleasant. Tom was a terrific cook. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting for mushrooms, fishing outings and had a special love for his dogs, Homee and Curlie. Tom was a huge gardener, growing all types of flowers, canning vegetables and sprouting new trees. He is survived by his wife, RaeAnne of Salem, IA; a son, Clint (Tracy) Twaddle of Payson, IL; a daughter, Megan Twaddle of Payson, IL; a step-son, Mike (Jenny) McGee of Hillsboro, IA; a step-daughter, Shirley (Jay) Zuluetta of Seattle, WA; and three grandchildren, Reagan, Jacob and Michael. Also surviving is a sister, Deann (Gary) Waddell of Carthage, IL; a brother, Rodney Twaddle of Carthage; and his step-mother, Betty Twaddle of Carthage, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
