Thomas Schrader

Thomas F. Schrader, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Henry County Health Center. Open visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. There will be no family visitation. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff "Duke" Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Mills Cemetery. Born January 3, 1944, in Fort Madison, IA, Tom was the son of Thomas Henry and Mary Hull Schrader. He spent his youth in the Fort Madison and Fruitland, IA area. He attended LM High School. On February 22, 1964, Tom married Betty Louise Edwards. She survives. Living in Mt. Pleasant most of his adult life, Tom was a truck driver for Hunsaker's and W.M. Johnson. He worked at Lomont in Mt. Pleasant as a machine operator. Tom loved spending time with his granddaughters. He showed horses and was a member of the Henry County Saddle Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, hunting, and fishing. Along with his wife, Betty of Mt. Pleasant, Tom is survived by one daughter, Diana and her husband Doug Smith, along with their children Emma and Abby, all of Mt. Pleasant, IA. He is also survived by one brother, Lynn Schrader and his wife Diane of Kalona, IA. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timothy Schrader.
