On January 28, 1978, he was united in marriage to Pat Tatman at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Belle Plaine. Tom was a familiar face at Cappers, he worked in the parts and service department, then moved on to transporting cars and detailing, before he “retired”, but just a little.

Tom had a huge passion for cars. He enjoyed going fishing, selling cars at the dealer auctions, sitting in his lawn chair and drinking a few beers. “Spook” as he was nicknamed by his friends, enjoyed gathering and having endless conversations with them. Hosting the yearly family Christmas for nearly 50 years was something he looked forward to. Tom was a devoted family man and loved his children, grandchildren and his dogs. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was rarely without a positive comment.
