SIGOURNEY-Theola Herrmann, age 83, of Sigourney, died Monday, December 11, 2006, at the Halcyon House in Washington, following a lengthy illness. Theola was born April 28, 1923, near Harper, to Vincent and Dorothy (Peiffer) Schulte and received her education in St. Elizabeth Catholic School. On January 15, 1947 she married Bernard Herrmann at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. The couple farmed in the Sigourney area and moved into Sigourney in 1959. Theola became a resident of Halcyon House in December of 2005. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper and the Stony Point Hustlers Club for many years. Theola enjoyed square dancing, traveling and caring for animals. Survivors include four sisters: Geny Bombei of Cedar Rapids, Arlene Samuelson of Washington, Thelma Mahan of Wayland and Betty Adams and husband Beryl of Delta; one brother: Bob Schulte and wife Elaine of Keota; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bernard in 1998 and sister: Irma Gent. Private memorial services will be held with Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries-St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. There will be no visitation. A general memorial fund has been established. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
