Terry W. Ritchie

Terry W. Ritchie, age 64, of Marengo, passed away Sunday April 30, 2023, at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday May 2, 2023, at the Marengo American Legion Hall. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Terry is survived by his wife Theresa, children Tami VonAhsen (Kevin King), Sara Michelle Ritchie (J.D. Parr), Kevin (Stephenie) Ritchie, Tricia (Ashley “Red”) Wetjen, nine grandchildren Shana, Shae, Elaina, Rachelle, Kendalynn, Amia, Eleri, Porter, Ailea and one baby girl on the way, eight great-grandchildren, a brother Randy Ritchie, a step-mother Judy Ritchie, and step siblings James, Roxanne, and Chrissy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry Wayne Ritchie was born November 8, 1958, in Marengo, Iowa the son of Freeman “Fritz” and Joan Woodward Ritchie. He attended Springville and Iowa Valley Schools. After high school Terry worked for the radiator shop in Marengo, on the road crew for LL Pelling, as a painter for Kinze Manufacturing and for many years he worked for S & J Sanitation in Marengo. Terry was a jack of all trades and was highly skilled in carpentry and mechanics. He liked going hunting, fishing, smoking meat, especially jerky, and singing and playing his guitar. Terry enjoyed playing pool while grabbing a cold drink at the local tavern. He will be missed by many.
