North English- Terry Lynn Harriman was born May 25, 1959 in Sigourney, Iowa the son of Lynn Harriman and Dorothy (Lekin) Harriman. Terry graduated from English Valley High School in 1977. On November 7, 1992, Terry was united in marriage to Julie Owens, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. He farmed and worked for Sullivan Graphics until 1997. He then began working for Iowa County Secondary Roads Dept. operating a road grader. Terry enjoyed farm tractors, toy shows, auctions, farming, raising cattle, watching NASCAR with Seaba, going to his children's sporting events and helping them with 4-H. He also enjoyed having his kids' friends over. Terry died on Monday, October 14, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City, at the age of 54. He is survived by his wife Julie, a son Trent, and a daughter Taylor all of North English; his mother Dorothy and step-father Rex Stout of North English; his father Lynn Harriman of Ottumwa; a brother Mike (Beth) Stout of Newton; two sisters; Jackie (Mark) Carlson of Newton, Bobbie (Rory) Larsen of Colorado Springs, CO; an Aunt & Uncle Doris & Robert Reinert of North English; cousins: Roberta (Craig) Trost of CT and Melody (Eric) Schwenke of Sigourney; his father & mother-in-law: Hugh (Shirley) Owens of Homestead; and three brothers-in-law: Doug (Sandy) Owens of Oxford, Michael (Trilby) Owens and Mark (Jeanne) Owens all of Homestead; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his grandparents. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the North English Christian Church. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 3:00 -7:00 P. M. at Powell Funeral Home, North English. Memorials may be directed to: Iowa County 4-H Building Fund, The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or the University of Iowa Spiritual Services.
