Tammy Wallerich

SIGOURNEY-Tammy Lea Wallerich, age 53, of Sigourney, died Sunday, January 13, 2019, at her home.
Tammy was born April 9, 1965, in Sigourney, to David and Judith Ann (McBeth) Wallerich and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1984. She married Terry Herman. The couple had three daughters and later divorced. Tammy worked at Louis Rich for several years and had been a Veterinary Assistant at the Keokuk County Veterinary Clinic for 23 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney and the Altar and Rosary Society. She taught Religious Education classes, was active in Sigourney Pride and After Prom for many years and was on committees for RAGBRAI and the Sigourney 175th Anniversary Celebration. Tammy enjoyed dancing, singing, traveling, shopping, going to concerts, St. Patrick's Day, animals and her family.
Survivors include three daughters: Ashley (Ray) Klein of Sigourney, Danielle (Scott) Appleget of Riverside and Courtney (Luke Lyle) Herman of Sigourney; two grandchildren: Emmalyn and Brayden Klein of Sigourney; her parents: Dave and Judy Wallerich of Sigourney; special friend: Roger Berg of Keota; her dogs: Gus, Gabbriella and Sophie; special aunt: Jerlyn Bowers of Sigourney; several other aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Erma and Lloyd Pilcher, Firman McBeth and George and Ida Wallerich.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Martinsburg. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the church, where there will be a wake service at 4:00 p.m.
