Suzzette Monroe

Suzzette Surrette "Missy" Monroe, 44, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 3, 2017, at her home.According to her wishes, cremation will be accorded. A private, family celebration of Suzzette's life will be held Sunday July 9 at the family Home. Gifts of love and friendship may be given to the family for her children's education. Born October 8, 1972, in Chicago, IL, Missy was the daughter of William and Bobbie J. Monroe. She attended Chicago Vocational High School. She married Marcus A. Hamb, Sr. in Chicago.While in Chicago, Missy worked as a telemarketer. In 2005, she moved her family to Burlington, IA, where she worked as a cook at Burlington High School and in local restaurants. A few years later Missy and family moved to Mt. Pleasant. Her highest priority was her children and family. Missy had a way of putting a smile on the face of anyone she came across. She was also an incredible cook and enjoyed sharing her tasty dishes with anyone in need. She was a very outspoken, caring, and loving person. Survivors include two sons, Marcus A. Hamb Jr., and Blaine Bowman, Jr.; two daughters, Brianna Bowman and Bathsheba Bowman; a granddaughter Marianna A. Hamb, all of Mt. Pleasant, IA; her mother, Bobbie J. Monroe; two brothers, William Monroe, Jr., and Don Monroe; and two sisters, Angelic Monroe, and Antoinette Monroe, all of Chicago, IL. Missy was preceded in the afterlife by her late husband Marcus A. Hamb Sr., Father William Monroe Sr., Sister Nanette Monroe and a lot of other relatives.
