Susan Peppers

Susan Peppers, 64, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Henry County Health Center. According to her wishes the body has been cremated. Born April 8, 1949 in Columbus Junction, IA, Susan Kay was the daughter of Leland and Leona (Stapp) Wheeler. She graduated from Columbus Junction High School in 1967. She married Richard Hahn on November 11, 1968, and the couple later divorced. On January 20, 1978, she married Paul D. Peppers in Mt. Pleasant. Susan worked at Lamont Molding for over 30 years. She started working on the production line, and later became a supervisor. She had also worked as a teacher at Head Start and as a bartender at Westside Tap. A caring individual, Susan was always willing to help a friend. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, painting ceramics and going to flea markets. She loved tending to flowers and gardening. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Paul, of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two sons, Richard Hahn of Weslaco, TX and Martin Hahn of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a daughter, LaVonda Hahn of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a step-daughter, Patricia Wells of Burlington, IA; a brother, Mike Wheeler, of Washington, IA; three sisters, Nina Calvelage of Lakeville, MN, Rita Grimm of Washington, IA and Sherry Holmes of Broken Arrow, OK; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding Susan in death are her parents; a step-son, Steven Dale Peppers; and a brother, Jerry Wheeler.
