Susan Marie Schafbuch

Susan Marie Schafbuch, age 62, of Marengo, passed away October 14, 2019 in her home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019, at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Williamsburg, with Pastor Louie Gallo officiating. Burial will be in Genoa Bluff Cemetery, Ladora. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Williamsburg, in Sue’s name.

Sue is survived by her husband Jeff; her three children Corrina (Kevin) Dea, of Morton, IL, Crystal (Heath) Brandt, of Walford, and Casey (Stephanie) Schafbuch, of Ankeny; 10 grandchildren Addison, Harrison and Hunter Dea, Bo, Brock, Bennett and Briar Brandt, and Cru, Jovie and Gemma Schafbuch; seven siblings Gregory (Robyn) Roux, David Roux, Julie (Thom) Rutherford, Connie (Ben) Grapa, Mary (Bruce) VandeBerg, Laurie Haus and Kathy (Andy) Sirek; and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Kathleen Roux, and her first husband Jeffery Olson.

Sue was born October 20, 1956 in Rice Lake, WI, the daughter of Donald and Kathleen (Schieffer) Roux. She graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1975. Sue married Jeffrey Schafbuch on January 12, 1979 in Rice Lake, WI. In 1982, they moved to Marengo where they made their home. Sue was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Williamsburg and the Kiwanis Club of Marengo. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and embroidery. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family. Sue owned her own business, Sue’s Sewing and Embroidery and was also employed at Capper Auto Group, for 25 years. She made many life long friendships there with customers and co-workers. She will be greatly missed by all.
