Sue (Parris) Schweiker was born April 12, 1946 the daughter of Robert and Maxine (Barnes) Parris. She graduated from Columbus Community High School in Columbus Junction and from Simpson College. In April of 1971 she was married to Robert Schweiker, they later divorced. She was a elementary music teacher in the Winterset Community School District for 33 years before retiring in 2003. She moved to Wellman in 2003 and then to Kalona in 2005. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Sue died on Friday, September 1, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City from complications of Diabetes at the age of 60 years. Sue is survived by her father Robert Parris and wife Bettie of Wedowee, Alabama; a sister Barb Semler and husband Keith of Wellman; a brother Tim Parris and wife Terrie of Tiffin; seven nieces and nephews; a a great nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Marks.
A memorial fund has been established for the Asbury United Methodist Church.
