Steven Ray Montague, age 67 of Amana, died Saturday, January 26, 2019, near his home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Stonebridge Church, Cedar Rapids, on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a eulogy shared at the end of the evening by Pastor Robin Tyner.
Steve was born October 31, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Brown Montague and Aileen Belden Montague. He received his education in the Norway schools, graduating from Norway High School in 1969. He attended auto repair school then worked as a self-employed truck driver, and later as a trucking dispatcher and instructor. He was a lifelong resident of the Norway and Amana area.
Steve is survived by his children Brown (Valerie) Montague and Leigh (Tim) Moore of Cedar Rapids; a stepson Brian Shifflett of Sigourney; his sister Linda Copley of Mesquite, Nevada; two granddaughters, Shelby and Peyton; and step-grandson Alec Shifflett. He was preceded in death by his wife Vickie Montague; his parents; and siblings David and Billie.
