Sonja Maria Armenta

Millersburg-Sonja Maria Armenta was born December 22, 1965, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Norman Joseph and Mary (Flynn) Williams. She attended Creston High School. She was a Homemaker. Sonja was united in marriage to Esequiel G. Armenta on April 20, 1984, in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening, music, poetry, beading and crafts. Sonja died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home, at the age of 58 years.

She is survived by her husband Esequiel; four children, Marcos Armenta, of Millersburg, Veronica Armenta Henriquez (Salvador), of Coralville, Samuel Armenta, of Millersburg and Julia Armenta (Arturo Reyna), of Tiffin; 7 grandchildren, Adriana, Gabriela, Leticia, Adrian, Roman, Angel and Legend; four siblings, Michael Tillery, Deborah Armenta, Angelo Tillery and Angela Armenta. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Tillery and niece, Jessica Armenta.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Powell Funeral Home, in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to assist the family with funeral expenses.
