Shirley Ann Eckenrod

June 5, 1936 — January 9, 2024

Williamsburg

Shirley Ann Eckenrod was born June 5,1936, in Nashua, Iowa on the family farm. She was the eighth of nine children born to Leonard and Cleo Eckenrod. Shirley shared many wonderful memories of growing up on the farm. Shirley spent most of her adult life in Wisconsin with her dear friend Lynn Cox.

She spent her final years happily living in Williamsburg cheering on the Raiders and enjoying lots of family time with her nephew, Grant (Traci) Eckenrod and their daughters, Morgan (Levi) Brennneman, Madison Eckenrod and McKenna Eckenrod and sister-in-law Diane Eckenrod (wife of Jerry). She cherished her family and especially loved the hugs and kisses from her great-great niece and nephews Cleo, Waylon and Warren Brenneman and Will Eckenrod. She looked forward to her family visits from her niece Dana (Dave) Nichols and their daughters, Olivia, Morgan and Whitney (Alex) Anderson and children Brooks and Hollie of Princeton, Iowa  and nephew Jason (Suzanne) Eckenrod and their children Jake and Lexie of Mt. Zion, IL. Shirley is also survived by her sister, Mary Lou (Bob) Haacker of Mountain Home, AR, her sister-in-law, Mabel Eckenrod (wife of Kenny) of Waterloo and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Shirley passed peacefully at Highland Ridge Care Center, in Williamsburg on January 9, 2024, at the age of 87 years. Waiting in heaven for Shirley were her parents, dearest friend Lynn, brothers and sisters-in-law, Don (Pauline), Les (Fern), Bob (Fonda), Rich (Lorraine), Kenny and Jerry and her sister Pat (Frances) Schwartzkopf.

The family would like to thank the staff at Highland Ridge and Essence of Life Hospice for their love and care for Shirley. Memorials may be made to Essence of Life Hospice in Shirley’s name so that others may receive the same care and comfort. Shirley requested that a family celebration of her life be held at a later time. Powell Funeral Home is caring for Shirley and her family.
