Sharon Anne Conard

Williamsburg- Sharon Anne Conard was born April 25, 1943 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Marshall R & Ruby D (Brenizer) Canfield. She graduated from East High School in Waterloo. She attended the Broadlawns School of Nursing, UNI and Goerge Mason-MA. On August 19, 1967, Sharon was united in marriage to Bruce J Conard in Waterloo. They lived in many places over the years including Waterloo, Hudson, Spirit Lake, Des Moines, Germany, Iowa City, Arkansas, Virginia, Seoul, Korea and Williamsburg. Sharon was very active in local politics in her younger years, acting as a campaign manager for her brother’s campaign, she worked with the Christian Movie Productions and was a member of the Christian Women’s Business and Professional Council in Des Moines and the National Presbyterian Church in Washington DC. She enjoyed reading. Sharon died on Friday, August 16, 2024, at her home in Williamsburg, at the age of 81 years.

She is survived by her children Anne (Martin) Lyons of Ripon, California and Ed (Angie) Conard of Oxford; two granddaughters Madison Conard and Sarah Lyons; two brothers Clair Canfield of Des Moines and Ron (Francine) Canfield of Council Bluffs, IA; and a sister-in-law of Esther Hudson of Robins, Iowa. She was preceded by her parents; husband; two brothers-in-law Howard Hudson and Dean Conard; and a sister-in-law Frieda McComas. There will be no services at this time.
