Shirley Ann Bair, age 84, of Brooklyn, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Calvary Cemetery Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed in Shirley’s name to Essence of Life Hospice or Brooklyn Estate Activities. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Deb (Jim) Morton, of Victor, LeeAnn Current, of Grinnell, and David (Maria) Bair, of San Antonio, TX; a brother William (Judy) Wilcox, of Brooklyn; and a sister-in-law Carol Wilcox, of Belle Plaine. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie, in 2009, a daughter Barbara Jean, in infancy, a brother Jerry and a son-in-law Jerry.
Shirley Wilcox was born February 20, 1936, in Victor, the daughter of Millard and Frances (Cram) Wilcox. She attended the Brooklyn Community Schools and received her GED in 1974. Shirley was united in marriage to Archie Bair on February 19, 1955 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Brooklyn. She used to work at Brookhaven Nursing Home, and the local restaurant. Shirley and Archie both worked at the Brooklyn Christian Radio Station KSKB. She enjoyed crocheting and made lots of blankets and was an avid reader. Shirley truly loved her family and grandchildren.
