Williamsburg-Catherine Renee Shaull was born December 15, 1953 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of Harlyn (Gump) and Elaine (Meyer) Shaull. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1972. Cathy worked in Iowa City for 2 years until being transferred to Colorado in 1975 to Northwestern Bell-AT&T. She enjoyed her niece Emily and nephew Todd, her cats, gardening her flowers and fishing (no matter the size). Cathy died Friday, February 20, 2009 in Arvada, Colorado after a sudden illness at the age of 55 years. She is survived by her mother: Elaine Shaull; a brother: Larry J. (Colleen) Shaull all of Williamsburg; a nephew and niece: Todd (Melanie) Shaull of Cedar Rapids and Emily (Shane) Phillips of Williamsburg; five great nieces and nephews: Patrick, Breanna and Kyla Shaull and Landon and Hanna Phillips. Cathy was preceded in death by her father in 1999; grandparents: John and Evelyn Meyer and Earnest and Emma Shaull. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Fr. Pat Lumsden will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are for Safe Haven for Iowa County.
