Sharon Darlene Lough was born on February 3, 1953, in Richland, Iowa, to Irvin and Ruth (Heiny) Lough. She was a resident of Manor House Care Center in Sigourney, Iowa, at the time of her passing on October 22, 2011, at the age of 58. Sharon grew up on the family farm in Ollie, Iowa and attended a country school north of Sigourney in her growing up years. She later worked at TenCo in Ottumwa. She became affiliated with First Resources in Sigourney in 1987, moved to Sigourney in 1988 and worked at First Resources for 20 years. She leaves many friends there. Sharon moved to Manor House Care Center in 2009, where the staff gave her loving, tender care and embraced her as their family. She had many great times participating in Special Olympics, loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and being with friends and family. Survivors include one sister: Jan (Gary) Wallerich of Sigourney; four nephews and nieces: Jeff (Jhonna) Wallerich of Sigourney, Tonya (Brett) Thompson of Golden, Colorado, Erin (Brian) Wyffels of Cedar Falls and Jonathan Wallerich of Des Moines; three great nieces: Meredith, Olivia and Sophie Wallerich of Sigourney and three great nephews: Charlie, Oliver and Isaac Thompson of Golden, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Ruth Lough and many compassionate aunts and uncles who nurtured her loving spirit and helped shape the person she would grow to become. Sharon will be missed by many people who carry memories of her in their heart. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Sigourney United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Hembry officiating. Burial will be at Ollie Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. A memorial fund has been established for Special Olympics and Manor House Care Center.
