WILLIAMSBURG-Sandra Strouse, age 49, of Bedford, Texas, formerly of Williamsburg, died Thursday, August 23, 2007, at her home in Bedford, Texas, following a year-long battle with cancer. Sandra was born March 3, 1958, in Marengo, Iowa, to Edward and Edna (Doehrmann) Stangland and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1976. On August 13, 1983 she married Robert Strouse at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. The couple lived in Texas where Sandra managed a bookstore and worked at an oncology clinic. She enjoyed her cats, reading and doing family genealogical research. Survivors include her husband: Robert and son: Tyler Strouse, both of Bedford, Texas; her mother: Edna Stangland of Williamsburg; one sister: Carol Green and husband David of Waubeek, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father: Edward Stangland and brother: Kenneth Stangland. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2007, at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for Cancer Care Services in Texas.
