Sandra Kay Sieren was born on August 10, 1938, near Keota, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Edith Trier Stoutner. She graduated from Keota High School in 1956. She married Marvin Sieren on January 10, 1959, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. She worked at the Farmer's Savings Bank in Keota and worked side by side with Marvin on the farm. She lived in the Keota area all of her life. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She was in charge of funeral lunches for St. Mary Church for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking pies, mowing the yard and being a 4-H Leader. She loved camping at the Iowa State Fair and spending time with her grandchildren. Sandra died on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Maplewood Manor in Keota, at the age of 71 years. Survived by her husband Marvin of Keota; her children Vickie Altenhofen of Keota, Tina (Robert) Schmitt of Keota, Kurt (Angie) Sieren of Johnston, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and her father Carl Stoutner of Keota. She was preceded in death by her mother and an infant son. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church, Keota. Father Charles Fladung will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Keota. Visitation will be held on Sandra's birthday, Tuesday August 10, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Keota. There will be a Rosary at 4:00 PM and a Wake Service at 7 PM. A memorial fund has been established for Keota QRS, Maplewood Manor and Washington County Hospice.
