Ryan Connor Morgan left behind his struggles and a host of people who love him when he passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the age of 27.
Graveside Services and Interment: 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 5, 2021, Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn, Iowa with Rev. Josh Gerard officiating. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn is assisting the family with arrangements.
He fought hard against the powerful brain disease of drug addiction for several years, and despite making courageous attempts at recovery, the disease took him from us. His family takes comfort in knowing that Ryan did know the Lord and that he is at peace with Jesus and his Dad in Heaven.
Ryan was born in Houston, Texas on January 30, 1994, to Rebecca Ryan and Scott D'Neil Morgan. He is preceded in death by his dad, Scott. He is survived by his beloved mom, Becky, grandfathers Don Morgan and Donald Shriver, aunts: Patty (Dennis) Lisa (John) uncle, Brad (Debbie) step-aunts Donna (Bob) and Dorothy (Joe), numerous cousins and his girlfriend, Jourdan Short.
Ryan spent his first 18 years in the Cypress area. He, along with a group of his good friends, attended Cypress Christian School from kindergarten through graduation. Rarely did you find Ryan without a smile on his face. He never met a stranger and always had something humorous to say. He came by his quick wit naturally from his mother. He loved his friends and the Morgan house was always filled to overflowing with a posse of Becky’s "boys." Ryan participated in sports starting with T-ball all the way through high school basketball and football. Growing up, Ryan loved spending time with his friends enjoying air soft wars, paintball, Playstation, skateboarding, swimming and sleepovers. Some favorite memories of Ryan’s were road trips to Iowa to visit family and the family vacations he enjoyed in Belize and at Disney World.
Ryan was loved by so many and is already greatly missed. Throughout his struggle, he hoped his story would somehow help others battling this same disease. The relationships Ryan developed still stand today and are evidenced by the outpouring of love that has been shown to his family since his passing.
