Williamsburg-Ruby Marie Miller was born August 17, 1912 in Fremont County, Iowa, the daughter of B.B. and Mamie Surface Runyon. She graduated from Percival High School. Ruby was united in marriage to Ivan W. Miller on January 6, 1931 in Hamburg, Iowa. The couple farmed near Percival until 1939 when they moved to a farm near Kinross. After retiring from farming Ruby worked at the University of Iowa Hospital in the Central Sterilizing department until retiring in 1978. Ruby was a member of the Kinross Christian Church were she taught adult Sunday School for many years. Ruby enjoyed cooking, being a 4-H leader and an active community member. Ruby died Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg due to complications of age at the age of 93 years. She is survived by a daughter: Beverly Ring of Williamsburg; a son: Richard Miller of Bridge City, Texas; a sister: Laurel Sears of Auburn, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband on March 15, 1984, 5 sisters, a son-in-law: Don Ring and a daughter-in-law: Billie Miller. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the Kinrosss Christian Church in Kinross. Pastor James Stout and Don Ridenour will officiate. Burial will be in the Brethren Cemetery near South English. Visitation will be Friday fro 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
