LONE TREE-Rubie E. Raben, age 99, of Lone Tree, died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Pioneer Park Care Center in Lone Tree. Rubie was born April 30, 1911, in Gentry County, Missouri, to Bert and Alda (Ulin) Fischer and received her education in country school. She married Dwight Ulin and the couple had two sons prior to his passing. Rubie then married Waldo Raben on February 17, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas. Rubie was a member of the community club and enjoyed crosswords, canning, collecting chickens and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters-in-law: Elizabeth Ulin of Minot, North Dakota and Janette Ulin of Lone Tree; six grandchildren: Lonnie (Satha) Ulin, Jerry (Kris) Ulin, Chris Ulin, Paul (Alison) Ulin, Marsha (Joseph) Keever and Lisa Ulin; five great grandchildren; one niece: Charlene (Danny) Hamilton of Keswick and two nephews: Bill Smith of Chula Vista, California and Gene (Marlene) Smith of Petaluma, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sons: Albert and Melvin, brother: Bill Cherones and twin sister: Ruth Shepherd. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with Pastor Jim Bringman officiating. Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery near Delta. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established.
