Parnell- Roy Dale Moffit, was born on February 13, 1962, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Harold and Judith Jo (Knipfer) Moffit. He attended school in the Cedar Rapids area. He recently attended Kirkwood Community College, where he received his CDL, Roy was so proud of this accomplishment. He was a truck driver for L.L. Pelling in North Liberty. Roy enjoyed spending time with his son, hunting, fishing, boating, camping and horseback riding. Roy died on Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Parnell, at the age of 51 years. He is survived by his partner Annette Van Thournout of Parnell; a son Brayden Moffit of Sigourney; his father Harold (Delilah) Moffit of Central City; a brother William Moffit of Fairfax; a nephew Mack Moffit of Fairfax; his best friend Dave (Lori) Shepherd of Ladora; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Judith Stewart. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, February 18, 2013, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Elder Alan Trumpold will officiate. Burial will be in the Piersol Cemetery, rural North English. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-4 PM at the Powell Funeral Home.
